11.11.11: Happy Veterans Day America!

Congrats to our featured Warriors and everyone who supported NSPYR’s inspiring tribute Wounded Warriors’ Resilience that received the Audience Favorite Award for Best Documentary Short at the 2011 Virginia Film Festival last weekend.

And Thank You to the VA Film Festival, all the volunteers and those who attended our screening.  And a big congrats to Jay Lavender, the director and writer, for all his hard work and dedication to this tribute.

The biggest Thank You goes out to all the brave men and women who have served our country and those heroes who are out there serving today.

eleven eleven eleven

Today is a big day for a lot of people. It’s 11.11.11…and I can only imagine how many people are tying the knot today! {For one thing, it would be a hard anniversary to forget!}

Being a part of the Charlottesville Wedding community, I’m constantly amazed and inspired by the vendors that we have here. And today is no different. Today, over 20 vendors and 60 people will come together to pull of the Charlottesville Free Wedding Project, spearheaded by photographer Jack Looney. It’s an effort to give a wedding to a couple that stands out in the community.

After dating for the first year, Briana was diagnosed with lynphona cancer. Ian was there every step of the way — to provide the support that she needed as Briana under went chemo, found herself shaving her head and facing a serious cancer at age 27. She is now cancer-free and now volunteers as a coach with Team in Training that raises money for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society, which helped develop the treatments that saved her life. She and Ian live a happy and, thankfully, healthy life now together in Charottesville. And today — they’ll start a new chapter as they say their “I do’s” with the Charlottesville community behind them.

Thanks to these amazing vendors for donating their time and services. I’m proud to be a part of your effort. And can’t wait to see this big day unfold for Briana and Ian!

I decided it was time for just a little ditty version 2.0!

I'll no longer be posting on this site, but you can find me here!

And Thank YOU for being on this ride with me...

teeny-tiny

World, meet Tiny, the newest addition to the Morris family!

She's sweet, she's got a ton of personality, and well, she's the runt. After 24 hours of suggestions, between the five of us, we're still hard pressed to find a name that adequately suits her.  So send us your suggestions... all are welcome.  She isn't going to be tiny forever, so we better get cracking...

p.s. Happy Happy Happy Thanksgiving to YOU and yours....
